Interesting chase on at Hove

By Will 3 years ago, at the end of April Leave a comment on this post

Fascinating chase on by Hampshire, v Sussex, at Hove right now. They, Hants, need another 85 to win - and Kevin Pietersen is in, and has 33 at a run a ball having just hit his 2nd six. He’ll want to win this game for Hampshire, having made a duck in his debut innings a few days ago.

Update: he went beserk hitting 61 from 51. Video highlights available here.

Good to see Pietersen get some runs although he didn’t quite stay in long enough.

Plenty of F5′ing over on cricinfo in an exciting finish but the game has ended in a draw with Sussex needing 2 wickets and Hampshire 18 runs.

Strange, wasn’t it - I can only guess that their final batsmen were either too crap to get the final 20 or so needed; or Sussex were scared of losing and bowled wide; or the light was too poor. Shame, as Pietersen clearly went beserk
