Ashes tickets for this summer

By Will 3 years ago, mid-April Leave a comment on this post

Update June 1 2006: Looking for tickets for the 2006-07 series in Australia? Click here.

I’ve pretty much given up hope of seeing any of The Ashes matches this year - the prices are just silly money. Even on eBay, which is the best place to go for spare tickets, only the Oval is affordable..but of course, that’s the 5th and final Test and it might all be over by then!

So, here’s a link to an eBay saved-search I have running. Looks like this

(ashes,((eng,england) (aus,australia))) ticket*

This will find any item with the words ticket or tickets, along with any one of ashes, eng, england, aus & australia. It works like a charm, so hopefully you can pick yourselves up a ticket or 2.

Are tickets sold for the entire Test Match? or are they sold for each day of the Test? If the latter, are all the 5th day tickets sold out too?!!

They’re day tickets. As far as I know, the entire series has been sold out at the box office.

The policy at Lord’s is that they sell tickets for the first four days in advance, and if there is play on day five then tickets are only sold at the gate on the morning of the fifth day. (I saw day five of England v WI this way last year). I am not sure what the policies are at the other grounds.
