Don’t worry about laughing — I had a bit of a chickle over how stupid it (I?) was… after the stitches we taken out.
It wasn’t even one of those cool injury stories that you can talk about at the pub for years to come.

I shouldn’t laugh, but I can’t help it - this is somebody’s lip after being hit by a cricket ball. Ouch.

We were warming up before the match, just taking a few catches, when I tried to be a hero and sprint for one that came off a thick top edge. Being the klutz that I am, I overshot by a little and when I jerked back to try and take the catch, I put my head in the way of the ball.
As I said, not really a cool pub story, more of a “how big an idiot am I?” story.
