Harmison to play 4th ODI

Harmison in line for recall

Harmison’s apparent home-sickness (which will no doubt have a pill-form-cure one day - bless ‘im) has been well documented, by me if no one else - but he continues to talk about it. Actually maybe I’ve misread the article - why does he say “If you had offered me the chance to go home on the second I would have gone,” “but that is just me and my character. Honestly, I think if Fred had been here I would have gone home.”? They’re best mates - surely the fact Fred isn’t there means….oh I dunno.

Anyways, he’s playing tomorrow so it’ll be fascinating to watch how he pulls up after his disasterous tour so far. Hoggard looked dead and buried earlier in the week so he’ll have a rest.

Wonder whether Harmisson will be the first cricketer unable to achieve his full potential due to “home-sickness” in modern times !! I mean people fail to do that due to lack of application, lack of patience, inability to handle pressure - but homesickness - that’s a first in international cricket for me !

It’ll be a shame for international cricket if he *doesn’t* fulfill his potential. He has the potential to take 300+ wickets, and in 2004 no one would have disagreed. It hurts me to say this - but I can’t see him ever regaining that kind of form again.
