Murali went for 57 from his 3. I’ve seen some bowlers treated bad, I’ve even been caned myself, but I never seen anyone get done over like what Fleming did to Murali. It was brutal stuff.

Stephen Fleming: one man destroyer?
By Will 4 years ago, at the end of January Leave a comment on this post
Fleming’s a good captain, and an elegant left-hander - but a destroyer? You wouldn’t bet on it, which is why it shocked me to read of his 57-ball hundred! 10 fours and 9 sixes. A little known Australian leg spinner called Warne (doesn’t give his first name) went for 26 from 3, finally getting Fleming. Anyone got any pics of the action?
UPDATE: according to Scott, this wasn’t an official ODI; why not (when the other charity bashes have been)?

Firstly, Murali was hit for 7 sixes and 57 runs in 3 overs !!! Being already a low-scoring game and with the amount of funds donated proportional to the scores and the number of sixes hit, it is not entirely inconceivable that Murali intentionally threw up a lot of balls (pun not intended) so as to maximise the donations for is ravaged country - Not something you would like in an official match is it ??
Also, the team had ppl like Knight, Spearman, Hick, Rhodes, Klusener, Warne etc - an average age of 33 at least - not a team that could say to represent the “rest of the world” is it ? Hence the lack of official status.
Besides this was organized by the NZ cricket board and not the ICC

You’d have to get in touch with Sky NZ- if they are anything like the Nine Network in Australia they will be flogging DVD copies soon.
