W.G.Grace MP3 from The BBC

By Will 4 years ago, mid-January Leave a comment on this post

Rick Eyre has found one of Mark Steel’s lectures - on W.G.Grace. The world’s first superstar. I’ve grabbed it and converted it to MP3 which is probably breaking some law, but what the hell. Quality’s not terrific, but at least you can listen to it whenever you want now. Download here.

Info, should you need it, on the man himself here, here and (superb) here

    Hi,
I have had a an Australian Diary/Journal for quite some time which looks like a ship diary
from the 1800. The diary itself is nothing to get excited about apart from the fact that there is an entry in it signed by one W.G Grace. It refers to a game of cricket played in Australia and gives the final score of the game in which England won.
It has been in my posession for quite some time and I’m not too sure of what to do with it or how to go about getting it authenticated if it turns out to be an entry by (the) wg grace. Can you Help or maybe e-mail me an image of wg graces hand writing so that I can compare with the diary I have? I would be very obliged if you would have anything that could help me out on this.
    Thanks alot Alan. jonesey734@yahoo.co.uk

Hi, I’ve been searching for the Mark Steel lectures for quite some time now, and just happened on your site. Unfortunately the MP3 link is no longer active. Any way of getting a repost?

Also, do you have any others? I’ve been able to obtain Newton, Beethoven, Hannibal and Napoleon. I’d be happy to trade or whatever.
