England start well

By Will 6 years ago, mid-December Add your comment below

It’s a slow wicket, true bounce and Smith made the right call to bat first, yet they’re 3 down before lunch. Hoggard snaffled Smith 2nd ball of the day, Flintoff broke the Rudolf/de Villiers partnership and then Harmison bowled Kallis for a duck with a full-toss at 92mph. Harmo has averaged 88mph this session – and this on a very slow wicket…

England’s session

Nice and tight in the first session. The Hog was certainly excited when he ousted Smith.

Don’t have to worry about the speed of the pitch if you don’t hit it. Kallis must have had his mind elsewhere.

Yeah – interestingly the last few games here, the first session’s score has been around 80-4 so they’re on par. But England have more experienced batters…anyway, early days early days
