Fleming totally lost the plot. But I never thought a player of his stature would be involved in such a foolish act. Mark was asking what his job requires him to do. yes and I agree if the “REAL” post match conferences are aired on TV then it will reveal a thing or two about the players

If that’s what Flem thinks then he should just say it. If he thinks Rihardson’s talking crap then why shouldn’t he say it? All the stuff prior to the outburst from Flem was negative, possibly patronising and always going to be sensitive. If Richardson thought that what he said was unfair or not true then he should have come out and said that…

One thing it does go to show is that if there was a bit more honesty in all the pre- and post-match talking heads stuff it would make the whole thing a damn sight more interesting.

I think Mr. Fleming forgot the contribution of Mark Richardson for his team. His (Richardson’s) some 300 ball-100s saved many tests for Mr. Fleming. Mr. Fleming is regarded one of the greatest captains in the business; so, he should be more careful and thoughtful about his comments.

Stephan fleming what an idiot, richardson is doing a normal interview and the questions were quite justified after a poor new zealand batting performance where fleming himself failed of course, and then stephan pulls out some abusive comments on mark as he departs, just stupid trying to take out his anger on someone else because of himself and his teams poor performance. Mark richardson was a fine opening batsmen, i am one and strike rate is not what we concentrate on early, its giving those middle order blokes with no technique a chance by batting time, Fleming is a flukey batsmen with a poor technique and now has shown to the world his personality, what a prick.

I never expected such an amateur stuff from such a shrewd captain. I was a big fan of Stephen—the way he used to keep hsi composure and speak his mind in the interviews. But this one was utter crap. I don’t what was in his mind. When a commentator is asking a question, he doesn’t need to have a test average or strike rate to support his question. It means Holding, Waqar, Willis, etc (all bowlers) should never ask questions regarding batting? What if Boycott, Gower, Ian Chappel, etc (all batsmen) talk about bowling actions and criticise certain bowlers? I dont think Mark Richardson ask any rubbish question at all. He was totally forthright in everything. Fleming’s behavior wasn’t examplary to say the least.

i think Fleming has lost it… with the pressure of captiancy. but felt bad for Richardson coz he was doing his job and i guess he couldn’t sollow the fact that a player who played under him dared to ask him these questions….man…stupid!

i feel bad for Mark…that was rarlly awful to watch…and i could see he was also kinda shocked…i think he was doing his job..nothing wrong in that..but Stephen Flemming..well we all knw he plays the game quiet hard…but still..

Instead of commentating on commentators’ remarks, Fleming should be more concerned with his team’s performance, which is his prime responsibility and for which he is paid.

Commentators make remarks / recommendation according to their own judgement (ofcourse, this is what they are supposed to do, and that is what others such as Holding, Gower, Chappel, Ritchie do). These comments should be taken on a positive note.

I guess Fleming over reacted (sign of a skipper who has things out of control). His own form is not upto the mark and his top three batsmen in this match are prone to falling as regularly as leaves in autumn. (team selection issue)

Nonetheless, Fleming is a fine captain and he has won great matches from desperate situations and I hope he wins this one too (Bond is the man). But his focus should be on his team and should not be distracted by what others say.
